Dry Mount Press

Somehow, some way, I never got the memo about the Dry Mount Press and how it is a water-media artist's best friend...well, I guess I did finally get the memo (as you can see), but I just got it a little bit later than I might have. Well, better late than never!!

So, I just discovered the wonders of the Dry Mount Press. It flattens a warped sheet of watercolor paper so beautifully. Like magic, I have a nice flat, smooth piece of artwork that will make scanning a (hawaiian) breeze (at sunset)!

Kathy, please tell me about your scanner, pen and especially the dry press on Saturday night! Cause, like, you know, I need more stuff to covet....

How cool is that!
I want one and I don't even work with water color anymore. I wonder if I could press my felt with that?
=o)

Oh Yes!! Roz, witht he felt, and other fabrics, I think you could do SO much with this thing. I've only scratched the surface, and I'm using it to flatten paper!! I'll do some fabric tests and report back.

Wow what an outstanding invention! I work on watercolor blocks and illo board to avoid warping paper... How come I've never heard of this thing until now? Thanks for posting about it!

Yes, please let me know what you think. I use an iron obviously but a press seems way cooler! ;o)

Cool Kathy!
I should have taken Julie's advice and pushed you out of the car when I had the chance!
Haahaa, I am glad you are getting good use out of it.
Keep your eye out there for one for ME!

Your new scanned pics look great!
