2007 Wrap-Up: Random things I want to share

2007 has been such an amazing year for me. It's been incredible!! I am so proud of all that I accomplished this year.

I have had so many 'firsts' this year - really amazing 'firsts'!! I am looking forward to more 'firsts' and to many more 'seconds' in the upcoming year!! :)

I am bursting with happiness and hope about what the future will bring. My life has literally become a series of dreams coming true, and I could not be more grateful or earnest about that fact. I am so happy and I look forward to more happiness, fullfillment, goals being reached, and above all and with everything comes more learning!!! I am working harder than ever, but it has never been so much fun!!

Here is a list of some major milestones I reached in 2007...

-My first trade book (illustrator) was created (Feb - April) and published (September)

-I began a relationship with Tugeau2, a truly excellent children's trade and educational illustration agency. Horray for Team Tugeau!!

-I illustrated a group of greeting card illustrations for a major national paper product producer. They were created for a pitch to a major mass market retailer (starts with T, ends with T). The cards didn't end up making the cut for ThaT, but the cards *will* still be produced for the paper product company's own line (Christmas 2008). Although the cards did not get picked up, I feel that I gave the client my absolute best and I think they would agree. The icing: I LOVE the end product! A major milestone for me - my FIRST mass - produced greeting cards, EVER. :)

-Worked with several new clients!! Very exciting!!

-I was invited to join the wonderful children's book illustrators' group, the inspiring and immensely talented Picture Book Junkies!!

-I also was invited to become a premiere member of the Scribble Guild, my other artist collaborative group of amazing illustrator/designer friends!

-I hired one accountant to work with consistently.

NOW, I get to reassess and rework my new goals, because goals seem to always shift in accordance with new goals reached!! :)

What are YOUR big 2007 milestones? What are your goals for 2008?

What fabulous accomplishments. Bravo, too, for putting them out here for all to see.

Now give us a sneak peek of the stuff for that big retailer with a "T" at the beginning and end of the name, can ya?

Looking forward to what the new year brings you. Lots of success!!!
