The OTHER Great News

I am selling original art and crafts at the Boston Handmade holiday shop, located in Downtown Crossing (Boston)! (Written up in the Boston Globe today!) I'm so excited that I went with my gut and took the plunge, committed to doing this and at the same time committed to going into the vortex (...or, the rabbit hole!) of crafting full-force, a to create inventory of more affordable gifts to sell at the store. It's really rejuvenating my creative spirit, and also my entrepreneurial spirit. When you are creating handmade original art to sell, there is a real palpable and immediate hit of happiness, joy and the spirit of giving, when someone loves it so much that they choose to own it for themselves. I sound pretty holiday-hokey, but I am being honest.

These are some of the hand-painted lapel pins I am making which will be in-house at the store starting next Thursday December 3. Making these pins has really reminded me how much I love doing this type of work -- working very small and detailed, working out of the 2D box, sharing my little creatures in a new more intimate way, making little jewel-like things by hand specifically for one special person to enjoy. It's really cool. I'm so enjoying the work that I think I will continue with these crafts after the shop closes. You will be seeing these pins and other items in my Etsy shop in the near future. (I will also be making earrings and rings.)

Hope you enjoy them. Please come down to the Boston Handmade shop, Thursdays through Sundays, 11 - 7 pm, now through December 28!
