Las Vegas

Hello, little penguin friend!

This past weekend, Matt and I took a three-day vacation to Las Vegas! These days, we rarely take a vacation that isn't piggy-backing on top of another traveling event, whether work-related or a family-based. Though those trips are excellent in their own right, nothing beats a trip where all you are expected to do is to NOT WORK and just enjoy the time, scenery, food and activities!
Here are some snaps from the trip!

At Monte Carlo's casino with a SURVIVOR casino machine! Can you believe I didn't even play it? Slots aren't my game of choice but I sure liked the theme.

Feeling imprisoned by The Strip, we fled to Fremont Street on Friday night...

Where - SURPRISE! - I met Rachel Reilly from Big Brother 12!

...and my Warner Bros. posse!

Here is the light show above the street which they call the Fremont Street Experience. Yes okay, it IS more like the Fremont Street Nightmare.. BUT it is STILL lots of FUN!

I love neon signs and designs!

There is a Cher gift  shop at Caesar's, where they had so much Cher merchandise, it was just fantastic.
(I found a great t-shirt.)

Puppets in a Caesar's shop. Cute huh?

Me and Halle! Just kidding, it's WAX Halle. (Look at how real she looks.)

No introduction needed!
Edited to add:
HOW could I forget to post THIS photo? The highlight of the trip was the Leonard Cohen show on Saturday night. This was the final show of his 3 year tour. The man is 76 years old and he is playing a four-hour-long show (including a 20 minute intermission). This was the best concert I have ever seen.

Went to Julian Serranos' Tapas for Sunday lunch. The food was WOW, as was the bathroom!
The tile work in this bathroom blew me away.

The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is the only national predator-based aquarium! Isn't that a fun fact? Here is my friend the sting ray. I loved this little guy so much, that...

..I brought him home with me!

Border Grill for dinner! Until next time, Las Vegas!

We ended our last evening dining at the popular and delicious mexican restaurant The Border Grill at Mandalay Bay. This restaurant is a must-stop for us,when we come to Vegas. It's a lovely place to have al fresco lunch, which we did on Friday, our first full day here. We went again for dinner on Sunday night and were seated in the main dining room this time because the patio is closed at night. (Vegas in December is chilly at night !)

We had a great trip! Now it is back to my nose-to-the-grindstone prepping for AmericasMart Atlanta Show in January! Woo hoo! I'm extremely excited to be exhibiting for my first time! so with that, I'm back off to the races now, and I won't be posting again until mid-January, likely right before the show, or right after, if I really can't post before. Please wish me Good Luck, and I'll see you again soon!! Thanks for sharing my trip with me!

That looks like a blast Kathy! I'm so glad you and the hubs had a 'real' vacation. I'm drooling with envy over your Border Grille meal - K and I LOVE eating there too. mmmm. Nothing like that in New England! And that wax Halle is super creepy. Fun stuff, thanks for sharing. :)
