I am still here, although posting from my bed! It's been quite a long and winding road over March and April and now we are into May. Where have I been? Well, you already know all about the renovation on the new house. If you don't, take a scroll down and check out some older posts to catch up. (Update: we are not completely moved in yet, but the relocation is imminent!)
What you might not know is that I had surgery a few weeks ago. I hadn't talked about it online before the fact because, well, YES... Even I have my limits on what is Too Much Information. Ha ha. Well, water under the bridge... I had surgery on April 29. (The surgery was for removal of severe endometriosis and ovarian cysts.) Recovery was tough (just being honest here) but it was moving along well and without any real issues... until last Saturday.
We can't plan for everything, we have to take life as it comes and try and make the best of things, which brings me to something that's been a bright spot over the past week. I've been sketching my quirky quotes, and then posting them to Instagram (regularly), Facebook and Twitter (occasionally). (I've tagged them #wellerwisdom on Instagram.) Really, they've been a life-saver (and a soul-saver!) for me. My sketchbook+my Dr. Grip pencil+my iPhone+social media has been my little life boat over the past week. Posting my quotes has given me something positive to share, has helped me to feel more connected to all my friends on social media and has helped me to feel way less isolated, while I'm stuck in bed icing my tummy over here. So, until I am back in action for REAL, please come visit me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. I'm a captive audience. :)

I know I've said it to you many times over the past few weeks, but I'm so sorry that you've had such a long and ongoing recovery. Hugs.
But what I haven't said is how much I LOVE the inspirational, honest, and beautiful sketches that you've been working on from bed. They are lovely. It's amazing that you are tapping into your creativity throughout your recovery.
All the best to you as you heal and get stronger, dear Kathy.
Thank you for letting us know, Kathy. And thank you for your inspirational messages, which are not only wise, but are also an indication of just how much you are your art and your art is you. I hope whatever this latest blip is makes itself clear soon and gets resolved as soon as possible. Cheers and good healing to you. If there is anything any of us can do, please give a holler. xx
Hi Kathy,
We are so sorry to hear that the healing process is taking longer than expected... It is so wonderful that you can still find the brightness in this bummer-of-a -curve-ball, and decorate it with your beautiful and inspiring designs! Continue resting and healing & please know we are all thinking about you and look forward to hearing when you are back on your feet again!
Take Care!
-Kelli
Oh, Kathy, I'm so sorry things are taking longer than you expected and that you've hit a set back! But I'm thinking of you and hoping things improve. You have a naturally positive personality and it shines through in your sketches and art. Hang in there. Big hugs to you!
THANKS to all of you guys!! I sm so happy you are enjoying my sketches! They have been such an important thread of self-expression, creativity and connection for me during this crazy time. Hugs and big thanks for your support and your words of encouragement.
